We want to sell our home as a For Sale By Owner to save real estate commissions. And we are hoping it will sell thru FHA rather than Conventional to save a potential buyer a lot of downpayment. We upgraded 6 years ago with all new plumbing, electrical wiring, heat pump/AC, ductwork, all new bathtubs, sinks, faucets, cabinets, metal roof, new siding and some new windows, and had the foundation leveled. Should we have an FHA appraisal done before trying to sell it or let a potential buyer do it?
