I am going to make a 3 layer cake, a 6 inch a 10 inch and a 14 inch, 2 inches deep...?

I was just wondering if any cake decorators out there, what would you suggest as a good cake mix to use? I bought Betty Crocker, but now I am thinking that I shouldn't have bought that brand, when I have been reading that the best cake mixes to bake with for a 3 tierd cake are duncan hines... what do you think? What is the difference between the cake mixes?
