What do you think about California's new solar power projects?

I think the idea is fantastic. While initially expensive up front, the savings both to consumers and the environment could be enormous. As far as technology goes, it may not be totally there yet but, 15 years ago, neither was Iphone technology. Once the committment is made to move forward with renewable energy the job market will be huge. I forsee Colleges eventually offering degrees in Renewable Energy. The only hold back will come from the Utility companies and the politians who get their campaign funds from those companies.
